Welcome to our Donation page! Here, you will learn more about the importance of donating to the success of Biting Back’s mission of fighting food injustice and providing education around nutrition.
Why Donate?
Donations are essential to helping fund Biting Back’s in person workshops and for meals that we prepare to fight food injustice. Every donation, big and small, helps us get closer to our mission and supports our community.
Where Does Your Donation Go?
Your donation goes directly into Biting Back initiatives. Most of our donations go to funding our food supply for workshops and for people facing food injustice. Beyond this, our donations go to events and campaigns to spread our mission more.
Who Are You Supporting?
By donating you are directly supporting people facing food injustice and helping teenagers all over the United States by giving to an organization that is working on promoting education around nutrition.
Frequently Asked Donation Questions
Are there any donor perks?
Beyond the amazing feeling of knowing that you are helping a wonderful organization, donors receive shoutouts at workshops and all events we have. Additionally, top donors can–optionally–get their name listed onto our website and have events named after them.
Do you accept in-kind donations?
While we don’t frequently accept purchased food for safety reasons, if you have a specific good that you want to donate or bring to the Biting Back community please reach out to us!
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Unfortunately, Biting Back is not a registered nonprofit yet and therefore your donation is not tax-deductible but it is nonetheless extremely important and valued. We understand the frustration that your donation is non tax-deductible but because of that every donation is all the more appreciated.
How else can I help?
There are so many ways to get involved and support the Biting Back community if you cannot donate. The biggest thing you can do is spread the word about Biting Back to the people around you and talk about the importance of nutrition education as well as food injustice. Additionally, you can volunteer with Biting Back and help us complete our mission. Equally important, come to workshops! The more people coming to and learning from our workshops the better!
